What's at stake for members and their families? Working families deserve effective representation in government. The first step is to elect people who will stand up for what's right. NTU COPE works to support candidates for local, state and national office who will fight for such important issues as:
The "NTU... Teach for a Cure" team has been registered for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Broad Street on 10/18/2015. In honor of those who are battling, who have survived and who we have lost.
The Newark Teachers Union believes that the Arts (including visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, etc) are vital in ensuring all children get a well-rounded education. We have set up a group on Facebook to share ideas on Arts education. This group is a wonderful cross-district opportunity for art teachers (of all media) to get together and exchange ideas/lesson plans, resources and instructional thoughts.

The Newark Teachers Union has expanded our outreach to our Bilingual and ELL Teachers by creating the (NTU Bell) Newark Teachers Union Bilingual/English Language Learner Committee Facebook Page.

In addition, we will be having a workshop soon to discuss changes to State Code around Bilingual and ELL/ESL instruction. More info to come!

We ask that you meet with your building representative, and come down to the NTU office to meet the NTU staff at any time! This is your Union, and we look forward to working with you for years to come!
