East Side comes together for Hurricane Relief

East Side’s Yari Pares has been working closely with the Hurricane Maria Relief Effort which is composed of various organizations in Newark, from the PR Parade Committee, to the Roberto Clemente baseball league of Newark amongst others such as Ariagna Perello who served on the Newark School Advisory board at one time.

“Here at East Side I have been collecting things that people need for about 2 weeks and taking them over to the locations I have included in the attachment. Students are receiving their community service hours for their help and many have also volunteered. Staff have been helping as well, a couple of teachers and VP s have brought in things to help out with the cause.

This week on Friday  we are having a Donate to Dress down day which is being held by the East Side’s student council with the help of Ms. Debra Naporano, also a guidance counselor.”

There is an event this Saturday, a Benefit Concert and Donation Drive on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00am to 6:00pm at the lot located at 870 Mount Prospect Avenue, Newark, NJ to benefit the people of Puerto Rico.”
