Yesterday, NTU reached out to Newark Public Schools about a possible early closing today because of the expected high temperatures.  We are happy to report that this morning NPS informed us:

"Due to extreme heat, NPS students will be dismissed early at 1pm today, June 18th. All after-school activities at NPS facilities are cancelled. School staff will remain on-site until students have identified a safe passage home. All NPS graduations will proceed as scheduled."

Thank you for hard work you do!

How many days will be I be paid for on the last day of school?

NPS sent out a memo about the last pay check of the year.

All full time NTU members will be getting a ten day check on Friday, June 15, and a ONE DAY CHECK on Wednesday, June 20.  That last check will be direct deposit.

When will I get my Escrow check(s)?

Single check option: June 15th

4 check option: July 13, 27; August 10, 24th

Educators, parents and staff can help slow the spread of respiratory illnesses like colds, and influenza (flu). The Center for Disease Control has information on preventing the flu as well as materials and tools for schools. Click here
