Dear Teachers and Staff, 
 
Last week Superintendent León and I met with K-3 teachers to listen and provide clarity regarding instructional outcomes that will best ensure students are learning how to read and write.. 

  1. Kindergarten teachers should focus on all students mastering uppercase and lowercase letter names and sounds, short vowel sounds, and sight words connected to the matrix. Teachers should use the books in the matrix during guided reading.

Please note the information concerning the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) included in this issue of Teacher Talk.  The ILP has been populated with the necessary data and abbreviated.  Your input is critical. Full directions from Ms. Jackson can be found here.  For those of you who will be completing the form, please complete a timesheet for payment for 1 hour and submit it to your principal for processing.
