Distance Learning Workshops and Library

As we move into the new school year, distance learning is going to be the way the vast majority of our students and staff are interacting.  The NTU’s Distance Educational Program run by NTU VP Silvia Pereira have been a huge success this summer.  It’s been standing room only the last few sessions. The NTU will continue to offer online workshops on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m on Distance Educational Programs.  If you are interested in signing up, check the bottom of this section

If you are unable to attend the live workshops, then please join the Distance Educational Program Google Classroom (class code: lq4jzft) where Silvia posts videos and resources to help guide you with the various platforms.  There are a lot of great links and material posted every week.  You will need to log on using your NPS email address.

Take Action!  Protect Education from being outsourced!

All pre-K through higher education employees need protection from subcontracting and outsourcing. These are privatization and anti-union practices that take away living-wage jobs with benefits from hard-working people in New Jersey. Senate Bill No. 2303 goes a long way in providing security and stability for workers, as well as makes certain that public employers are held accountable for the promises they’ve made to their employees.

Senate Bill No. 2303 will ensure the public sector continues to be a high-road employer. Our country continues to navigate through the financial challenges brought on by COVID-19, this bill makes sure the coronavirus pandemic is not used as a pretext to undercut the hard-won wages, benefits and working conditions of public sector unions and workers.

Let’s work together — and for each other — by urging Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin to move Senate Bill No. 2303 forward as it is worded.
