NTU Update - January 29, 2016

Dear Colleagues,

1)      Prescription Update – WE WON!  The judge has issued an injunction and a Temporary Restraining order against Superintendent’s Cerf unilateral attempts to change our Prescription Plan.  You must continue to use your current GPP Rx Card. Details to follow!

2)      Stipend Payments - If you have not received your salary stipend (for CST’s, and staff on the old MA or PhD scales) or your stipend for working at a Renew School, reach out to Mike Maillaro (mmaillaro@newarkteachersunion.com) immediately with your name and school. Also, make sure you submit the attached Employee Inquiry Form to NPS.

3)      Shanker Scholarship – Next week, you will be receiving a mailing about this year’s Albert Shanker Scholarship dinner.  This year, these awards will be presented at the 2016 NTU Hall of Fame Dinner to be held on Wednesday, May 18th at The Robert Treat Hotel, 50 Park Place, Newark, NJ at 6:30 p.m.  A buffet dinner and dessert will be provided, along with music and a special program for your enjoyment.

For the first time, in additional to the NTU Hall of Fame and Albert Shanker Scholarships, we will also be acknowledging outstanding NTU Members (who will be nominated by their peers).  Keep an eye on our website and your email for more information!
