The job of charterizing the entire district. I know the pretext under which you were sent here—to return local control, etc. but what do you plan on returning to us? A chartered district with a few segregated schools for Special Needs and a building or two for Bilingual and ELL.

Dear Colleagues,

During this bleak period in American public education history where educators are beset on all sides by enemies and reminders of the War on Teachers, it is absolutely fitting that we take time to pat ourselves on the back. We do that this year by awarding our first Member Recognition Award.

1) Hall of Fame Dinner: The 18^th Annual Albert Shanker Scholarship Awards are upon us. If you are a full member of the NTU, your son/daughter is eligible to apply.
