Brothers & Sisters:
Attached FYI is the message to your Principal from NPS regarding this Thursday’s NTU/NPS contract ratification vote. If you are a full dues paying member, please begin planning your participation today. Voting will be held at the NTU Union Hall at 1019 Broad Street 7a.m. to 7 p.m. We strongly recommend coming before or after work. If you must vote during the school day consider the following; amount of time you have, distance between the NTU and your location, approved coverage in the event of a 911 (stuff happens; flats, traffic, etc.). Limited parking is available behind the NTU so consider carpooling, Ubershare, etc.
An NTU Membership card AND photo ID are required to vote. If you do not have a membership card, please have current photo ID and NPS ID, a card will be issued to you.. Remember, union haters and “reformers” will be watching this voter turnout so make every effort to attend.
In Solidarity,

Subject: Message on NTU Contract Ratification Vote
Principals –
As you know, the NTU teacher contract is out for review and ratification by members. As a reminder, the ratification vote will happen on Thursday, May 11th between 7am and 7pm at the NTU Building at 1019 Broad Street.
To ensure our NTU members are able to go to the NTU office to vote:
- We ask that you do not hold any mandatory staff events after school, unless an event (e.g., athletic event or performance) has already been scheduled and announced to students/staff and the community.
- Teachers are also able to go during their prep periods or lunch period that day, if there is adequate time for them to go there and back during that window.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your Assistant Superintendent for guidance. Thank you in advance for your support in the voting process.
Sincerely,
Larisa S. Shambaugh | Chief Talent Officer
