We are planning a one day trip on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 to the Philadelphia Flower Show, an amazing world of gardening and design that dates back to 1829.
The Flower Show theme this year is "Explore America" and it will take visitors through acres of displays inspired by iconic parks such as Acadia, Cape Cod, Valley Forge and Shenandoah, Yellowstone, Yosemite and other historic sites created by garden designers. Guests can choose their own trails through the displays and learn about the beauty of our parks.
A first this year is the Railway Garden complete with large scale locomotives.
There is also the butterfly experience which gives you the opportunity to interact with domestic and exotic varietys. There is also indoor attractions such as shopping and dining, live music and wine tasting. There are lots of places to sit and refresh between exploring thsi beatiful show.
Lunch will be on our own either at the Flower Show or next door at the Reading Terminal Area which has loads of different restaurants and also lots of shopping. This is probably one of the most popular flower shows in the country. \
We will leave the Flower Show by 5 PM and arrive back at 7 PM.
We shall have two pick ups at our usual spots. St Joseph's Church in West Orange. The bus will arrive at 7:45 am and leave at 8 am. The second pickup at Exit 135 on the GSP will be at 8:30 am. The cost for members is $70 and the guest price is $75.
