From April 26 to April 30, the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library will be offering any teacher with proof of employment "buy 1, get 1 free" on regularly priced books during its annual used book, dvd and cd sale. The book sale financially supports the Library and such expensive Friends’ activities as the Children's Programs and the Museum Guest Passes. Regular prices are $2 for hard backs; $1.50 for trade paperbacks and $.50 for paperbacks. On April 29, all items will be half-price and on April 30 $5 buys a supermarket bag full of items, with each additional bag only $3. Past sales have featured over 30,000 items. The sale begins with a Members Only preview on April 26 from 5-8 ($15 memberships are sold at the door). Hours on April 27-29 are 10-8 and 10-1 on April 30.
The Friends are seeking volunteer workers during the sale, the donation and sorting period from Thursday April 21 to Tuesday April 26, and when we box the unsold books after the sale ends at 1pm on Saturday April 30.
Those interested should email Wmlvolunteers@gmail.com with when you are available and what you would like to do for the sale. Those interested in donating good condition books, dvds or cds to the sale (but not encyclopedias, textbooks more than 5 years old, old manuals or tapes) can do so at the library from 10-3 on Thursday April 21 and Friday April 22 and from 10-1 on Saturday April 23.
