After serving as the prescription benefits provider for the Supplemental Fringe Benefits Fund (“SFB”) for over 20 years, General Prescriptions Program, Inc. (“GPP”) has terminated its contract with the SFB. As a result of GPP’s termination, BeneCard, Inc. will be installed in its place effective April 1, 2016. Notwithstanding GPP’s termination, we are continuing with our pending legal and grievance actions against the Newark Public Schools for their unilateral and improper selection of BeneCard, Inc. and will keep you posted. (We haven’t lost the case, the provider dropped out, there’s a big difference, and we need coverage in the meantime.)
Complete the BeneCard application as provided by the NPS in order to maintain coverage. That is the most important issue for us at the moment. Please report any complaints regarding Benecard’s prescription services to us immediately.
