1. Contract Update – We are hoping to finalize all contract documents in the next few days.  Our goal is to have everything out to the membership by the end of the week, including a specific calendar of events, and the terms of the tentative agreement for your review. 

IF everything is finalized, the negotiations team will be available to answer questions at the NTU a couple days over break and a special email will be set up for more questions.  Oonce we are back from Spring Break, we will hold a membership meeting to formally present the tentative contract agreement, and several

This year, the Newark Teachers Union is proud to induct Christine Veliz into the Newark Teachers Union Hall of Fame. Christine worked in Newark for over 30 years and served as a NTU Building Rep

In order to continue preparing for our contract ratification, Wednesday, March 20's Executive Board Meeting with be a Closed Executive Session.  Only members of the Executive Board will be premitted to attend.

We will be scheduling Building Rep and Open Membership Meetings to present the contract settlement once we have a signed agreement.

1. Contract Update – A few weeks ago, the Newark Teachers Union and the Newark Public Schools announced that we had reached a tentative contract agreement. Since then, the NTU and NPS negotiations teams have been finalizing the language and salary guides in preparation for informational sessions with the Executive Board, Building Reps, membership and then a ratification vote. This is a tremendous amount of work, and we hope that we will be able to share more specific details of the agreement over the next few weeks. There will be plenty of time and opportunity to ask questions
