The Newark Teachers Union Secret Mail Ballot Election will commence Wednesday, May 31, 2017 and will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA), 120 Broadway, 21st Floor, New York, NY 10271

The AAA will mail ballots to members’ homes
Nominations shall be from the floor at the Friday, April 28, 2017 meeting for the Offices of President, Secretary-Treasurer and twenty-nine (29) Vice Presidents all of whom shall also serve as Delegates to the American Federation of Teachers National Convention and the New Jersey State Federation of Teachers Convention and Affiliates. Term of Office shall be for two (2) years commencing on the date of the first duly Newark Teachers Union called Annual Meeting at the Newark Teachers Union on June 29, 2017 at the Newark Teachers Union, 1019 Broad Street, Newark, NJ, at 4:00 P.M. whereat new officers and executive board members shall be installed.
Official Nomination Rules and Secret Ballot Election Rules accompany this notice and will be distributed at the General Membership and Nomination of Officers Meeting Friday, April 28, 2017 at Rafael Hernandez School and are also available at the Newark Teachers Union, 1019 Broad Street, Newark, NJ and the Newark Teachers Union website (http://newark.nj.aft.org).
